Well before i start pulling the injection pump i would be pulling the plugs out of the fuel tank and first cleaning it out . First off If the pump was bad you would more then likely have a hard starting problem and you are saying that it is loosen prime that tells me that something is stopping the flow of fuel to the lift pump and slowing the fuel to the injection pump . Now maybe i am all wet here but that is where i would be looking first . You can not believe what all i have found in fuel tanks over the years.
