In the post below maybe you can make out the starting instructions in this 1940 operators manual that shows the bowl in the small tank. Also the early operators books have a parts section. Unlike the later parts books that list different parts after changes are made. Early ones only list one # bowl, one # shut off valve in the big tank, one # each for 2 fuel lines and one each tank #. If you happen to have a Farmall model H photo archive book on page 104 is a picture of a early H with fuel bowl under small tank. Page 12 has a better picture, but I think its a preproduction tractor. Same pictures could probably be found at the Wisconsin historical site.
