Case, Is the NAPA coil a 12V coil with an internal resistor? If not, use an external resistor to reduce the overheating. Check your point gap first, if the points are gapped too close there is more time for current to flow through the coil than normal and this might be enough to cause it to get hotter than normal. You didn't say what model your Farmall is, but .020 seems to be what I remember for the point gap on a dist. ignition. Phil
