Is this the type of Nozzle Body Retainers (NBR) that you had envisioned? As you can see, the puller will engage the NBR fully with the injector removed. Both faces are perfectly flat so it is a much nicer fit than on the injectors. It will not pull the NBR out though! Those things are TIGHT!
A friend of mine is in a maintenance tech degree program and he has to make a large slide hammer that engages 1/2" female threads on the end. He will be making the large hammer next week. He is going to try and find some HEAVY flat stock that we can punch the two holes 1 31/32" apart in (Why not 2"???) then weld a 1/2" nut to the pulling plate. This BFsH should get the job done...maybe.
I can't stand having those copper washers in the bottom of the NBRs and not knowing how dirty they are and what kind of shape they are in.
I will be taking the injectors in to get tested next week. Huckstorf Diesel in Milwaukee will test them for $16 each. They will wave the $16 fee if they need rebuilding.
Will the 450 injectors fit my tractor? I might buy those so I have some extra cores or can maybe find four to "pop" out of my eight.
I forgot the pictures!
