I bought my tractor a couple of years ago. The tractor had been converted to a 12 volt system when I got it. The alternator was not hooked up. I ran it that way for a long time and just charged the battery as needed. When we wired the alternator in, the battery acid came out of the battery. I had the alternator checked out and was told the inside looked like it had been too hot. I put the alternator back on the tractor and started it- the needle on the gauge was to the far right and then when I went to stop the tractor by pushing in the switch, the tractor continued to run and I had to cut the fuel off. Is it possible that the 12 volt conversion was done improperly so that it is causing the problems with the alternator and is the switch a separate problem or related? Thanks
