If the gague was working before the rebuild, I would suspect a problem with the oil pump losing it's prime. There may be an air bubble in the line to the gague so disconnecting it may allow it to push the bubble out. Try a known working gague and if you still have no pressure there is a problem in there somewhere. Not knowing your skill level as a mechanic, did you check the bearing clearances as you reassembled the engine? Did you pre-lube all the bearings? Were the cam bearings replaced? Is the pickup screen/tube assembly firmly connected to the oil pump? Did you install a new oil filter? This last one can cause the oil pressure to take a few seconds to come up, but it shouldn't take 90 seconds. Let us know what you find. Good luck, Phil
