I am looking for the following replacement bearings and seals for my 1951 Farmall Model H. Since I do not own a parts manual for my tractor, I was hoping someone might help me with the part numbers and a good place to purchase the parts. While the engine is running, the tractor leaks 90Wt gear lube badly because of these bad bearings and seals.
I need to replace the bearing and seal where the spinning shaft from the engine enters the transmission housing. I also need to replace the counter rotating bearing and seal that is located a few inches below the spinning shaft. Both of these are accessible via the belly opening from under the tractor. My tractor does not have the belly cover, I guess one of the previous owners lost it... I think it is possible the original shaft seal might have been made out of leather. Hopefully the replacement seal is a more modern type like the ones currently used on spindles and spinning shafts. It appears that replacement of these bearings and seals should be straight forward, but installation advice is also very welcome. Hopefully this is a common maintenance item and fellow forum members will have information on such.
