Hi Jack, does the parking brake work? Most hydraulic problems on 74 series tractors are caused by someone driving the tractor with the parking brake engaged and the parking brake band gets ground up into the hydraulic oil. The brake band bits clog up the hydraulic filter and then the bypass valve opens allowing the hydraulic pump to pump the bits all through the system. These tractor only have one hydraulic pump and the reservoir is the transmissions and the rear end. It does not hurt to over fill by 5 gals especially if a loader is installed. On 574 the hydraulic pump outputs 12gpm and the MCV valve splits this into 9 gpm for 3 pt, remotes and loader, the other 3 gpm goes to power steering, brakes and PTO. The problem with your 574 would appear to be a stuck splitter valve in the MCV valve. It is stuck in the position so all 12 gpm is going to 3pt, remotes and loader. Sometimes it can be unstuck by pulling the remote outlet lever until you hear the hydraulic relief valve squeal.
