This works !!! The light switch body and stem are a ground for the Field. You have it wired on the switch incorrectly. There is only one terminal for the Field, and one for the Lights and one for the supply for the lights. There are two resistors. One in the light circuit. (for Low beam) and one in the field circuit for Low charge. With a meter, and all wires off of the switch, but the switch mounted, One terminal will be fully grounded in HDB positions, and have a 2 to 3 ohm resistance (or so) in the L position This is the Field wire terminal only. The other terminals will read zero resistance from battery input screw to light output when in H only. The same terminals will have about 2 ohms when in the D position. I hope this clears up the situation. This is the second time in two days to use this post! Jim.
