Dang. It worked great last night, but this morning, I went into the barn. I happened to touch the alternator and found that it is warm--after sitting all night. Tried to start it and the battery is down. Unplugged it for now and removed the bat terminal wire.
So, I must have some wiring reversed. One problem I ran in to...the Hitachi alternator terminals (2), besides the battery, are not labeled at all. I was not sure which wire to run to the bat terminal. The other terminal ties into the ignition switch on the run side. I had to switch the wires because, when I first started it after installing, it would not shut off. Maybe I am hooked to the wrong side of the ignition switch. Thought I had that figured out. It is supposed to go to the "run" side.
