Not an expert on starters, for sure. SAV with a poor 12 volt conversion. Trying to work thru all that is wrong with it to get it running. When you pull the starter rod the starter shrieks and does not engage. Other times it will engage but mostly no. Seems to me I heard they stick so gave it a few taps with a leather mallet, no change. Anyone point me in a direction that might resolve this?
