Hi Ritchie, thank Bernard as I saved several of his replies because my brother has 4 of this series of CIH tractors. I don't know the answer for cleaning the hydraulics. Many years ago, I was at IH dealer and mechanic had a 574 with the 3pt housing off and was attempting to clean and flush the hydraulics and transmissions. He may have had the 3pt housing off to replace the parking brake band. The problem is that there 2 different compartments, 1 for speed transmission and another for range trans and rear end plus 3pt reservoir, Cooler, PS and PB plumbing. There is also a suction screen on the input to filter. Some people have tried putting a cow magnetic(strong magnetics put in stomach of cattle to collect old nails and fence wire) in the filter housing to collect the metallic bits.
