Use 10 gauge on the battery and field wires and 12 on everything else. On the VR, run a wire from the bat terminal to the right terminal on the ampmeter gauge with the gauge laying down. The field post on the vr goes to the field post on the genenrator. The gen post on the vr goes to the gen or a post on the generator. Run a wire from the field post of the generator to the bottom screw on the light switch assembly. The wire from the battery, via probably the starter switch goes to the left post on the ampmeter gauge. The coil wire and the lights wire bolt to the right ampmeter gauge post. Hope this helps.
