It's possible that you have the wire to the points or condensor close enough to the magneto housing for it to short to ground there rather than the sparkplug wire to spark. Also very likely that your timing is now out of a running range. Check for shorts or near shorts and get a spark, then time the engine by standard procedures. Also possible that the mag shaft bushing is worn enough that the point setting is off after one turn of the engine?
