Thanks guys for helping with the past problems! I"m happy to report that the noise from the engine was misadjusted valves. Sounds a lot better now!
On to my next item on the list. I had my 6v generator rebuilt on the H last year. I rewired the tractor and it charged fine last year.
Now, when running the H under load, the ammeter shows close to "0" amps. When I slow the engine down to idle, the ammeter shows anywhere between 2-8 amps charging. Then when I throttle up, the ammeter goes back towards 0 amps.
I checked all the ground wires on the VR, everything is properly wired and grounded. Seems like the VR is good because it"s working properly at idle.
Does anyone have any idea where to look next?
