If it will pull start and run fine then sounds like the impulse on the mag is not working correctly. If you are still having running issues, take inspection cover off to make sure mag is tripping just after the crank reaches TDC. If the only thing you changed was the mag, carb and compression issues likely are not the problem. Step back take a breath and recheck.
