the 560 and 806 transmissions are completely different. the simplest cause of the problem i can think of is a roll pin worked itself loose under the steering column. if the shifter moves around loosely and feels disconnected, pull the RH battery out a little and look behind the rear end of it. or it could be more complicated and might have to look under the cover.
i guess if you want to run in 4th gear, it's no problem ;-)
