Under the starter switch on the starter there is a copper terminal. This terminal becomes part of the switch contacts when the switch is mechanically moved with the starter rod. The terminal is not making contact with the switch. Use a chainsaw file or small rat tail file to oval the mounting hles on the switch so that it moves closer to the terminal (usually a half hole diameter is needed) This allows current flow.
