When I was in high school, my first engine overhaul was my dad's Super H. That fall we decided to put a tank heater in the Super H. Being I was so familiar (I thought) with the makeup of the head I decided to connect the block drain to one side of the heater and to drill and tap a hole in the side of the head into the water jacket for the other connection. The reason for drilling the hole is that the temperature gauge on our Farmall H didn't seem to read correct when we teed in the heater there. Anyway, I connected all the hoses and started filling the radiator with the antifreeze I had drained out. After pouring all that I had drained I started to add more. Then I realized something was wrong and checked the oil and found I had drilled into the area where the push rods go and all the antifreeze was pouring into the oil pan. I redrilled the hole over about an inch and was in the water jacket. My dad kidded me about that for a long time after that. Roger
