We had the gen. off of the 560 in to have it checked for output, & the guy tried it for max. output. Cranked out 78 volts before he backed it down. Obviously had the field grounded & running at high speed on the machine. So, as Jim has said--6-volt generators were designed for 6-7 volts--not 12-14. Long service life was what Delco had in mind when these units were put on tractors.
