Last winter the HI-LO shift fork broke on my 706 while I was plowing snow. We pulled the top cover on the range transmission and replaced the fork, then adjusted the clutch, dump valve and transmission brake per the manual. For some reason, it will only go into reverse about half the time. It goes into the other gears fine, no gear clashing or anything. I tried adjusting the thing at the top of the linkage that looks like a tie rod end, but no luck. Is it likely that I have to adjust the rod with the threaded yoke that hooks into the cam pivot shaft? Or is there some other problem? Right after we put the top cover back on we looked in though the cover plate on the left side of the tractor and the reverse fork seemed to work fine.
