New rotors are not very costly; break the old one off if you need to. Check for spark using the secondary (big) wire from the coil to the distributor cap; unplug from the center of the cap & test to the engine block. Does the rotor turn when cranking? The gear teeth have been known to rust away. E-mail is open, contact me if needed.
