ground for td6?

Heyas, Just wondering what to use for a ground. I am having trouble getting my starter going, just want to be sure that I am using the right ground. I think it is supposed to be positive. Haven't had it going in such a long time, I forgot :) I was thinking it should work either way but just spin a different direction. Also, does anyone know where to get a spanner wrench? I need it for tearing apart my hydraulic cylinders. Napa said they used to carry something like that but the guy couldn't find it in their catalog. Thanks for any info, -Greg
