Most of them have lost the dipstick down into the reservoir, in my experience. I would drain the liftall and put in 6 quarts of new oil and leave it at that, but that's just my opinion. I think the full level is 8" below the top of the neck but I'm not sure. Once you drain and fill you can find out how far down it is and secure and re-mark the dipstick if you want to. If you take that large cap off the front of the steering box that will let at least a lot of the oil out, but if it looks clean I'd be tempted to leave it how it is, especially if it doesn't leak. I think it would take gear oil but I am not sure. Mine has grease in it because the oil leaked out, but that is not proper as I understand it. Zach
