The dipstick to my hydraulic reservoir is just dangling from the cap. It looks like some form of cloth held it in there. Is there any way to fix this without buying a new cap? Should I just rip off the stick, put six quarts in and hope it doesn"t leak?
After taking off both hood pieces I noticed the cover plate to the steering gear was very dirty and could tell the bolts had not been removed in probably decades. The oil inside looks great though. Anyway, just wondering if the plate on the front that requires a 1" or larger wrench is where you drain the oil. And also does this require gear oil or SAE 30, detergent or non detergent? Thanks
