I have a IH 544 with a C200 gas motor that was just rebuilt. I am having problems getting it to run. I might have a timing issue but when I tore the engine down to have it rebuilt I noticed an unusual amount of pitting and carbon on the manifold and head. I was told the manifold might be warped and sucking to much air to allow my tractor to run. I have a few questions here. The first one here is has any one on this forum bought the replacement manifold from the store here? My manifold exhaust on the side the other exhaust off center. Would this work on my tractor. Where could I find a intake/exhaust manifold either new or used that would work on my tractor? Just to clarify the first question. Has anyone bought the manifold from the store here at Yesterday"s Tractor and used it on the C200 gas motor for the IH 544 and if so did it work out or was modifications need to be made? Is there any silicon that is heat resistant that can be used on the manifold and head to help make a good seal other than the gasket? I am much appreciative and thankful to all who can help me here.
