I know that most wouldn't do this but I would pull the cover and just break the lock nuts loose and planing on getting real messy I would start it up and CAREFULLY take and gently grab or apply pressure to each rocker arm and you will find the noisy one really quickly. Then while the engine is still running try tightening up the adjuster and when you think you have it, take the screw driver off and let it run a minute and make sure. If it's now quiet shut the engine down and re run the clearances with a feeler gauge and lock them down. Then star it up again and see if it's holding. I have seen the bad lifters cause problems like this over the years. LarryT
