farmall a smoke

I got a 1946 Farmall A back in the Spring up and running again. I did just enough to get it in cultivating condition. I put a new head gasket, manifold, carb, but no internal engine work. It smoked a little, but now it smokes a lot. It appears to be oil smoke. I am looking to try to fix it myself. Suggestions on the cheapest way to approach the problem? What might the problem be? Thanks.
