the old 235 is an older engine from the fifties. its 230, 250 and then 292. the 230 and 250 look the same. the 292 has wider lifter covers on the side and thats the easy way to tell the diff.... has a taller block. the heads look the same on all 3 but i think the 292 has bigger valves, just not sure now. i know it has a bigger carb bore. i think the 250 and 292 have same pistons, but i was under the impression the 292 had longer rods.
