Super M Info

Just bought a Super M for $500. The guy said it ran when he parked it, about 6 years ago, but had carb problems. I'm thinking, it's probably governor related, as well. This tractor joins an H, a Super C, 3 F-12's, a W-12, a TD-40 and some other makes. The M is in good condition as far as the tin and completeness goes. I wonder if it is a Super, though, as my info shows it to be a 1944 Model (sn FBK 69028 X). Were Supers available in '44? Is $500 too much or a good deal? Appreciate any feedback.
