I had the same problem with my Farmall M. The shift lever pin came part way out and the gears jammed. A prior owner had used a steel band to hold the pin in place. I purchased a new pin and found it was much shorter than the one I took out. It appears that something is missing if the new pin is to be used. Like a plugs or retainers at each end of the pin hole. For now I reinstalled the old pin that is flush with the outer edge of the holes and put the steel band back in place. Thanks in Advance for Suggestions
