Did your orfice screen have a check ball in it or did it have one previously. If it did there will be a hole for a roll pin to hold ball in place. What happens with those is the check ball bounces back and forth and closes the orfice hole too small. It should be .031 when new. I drill them out a little to make up for leakage agcross the regulator valve land in the hydraulic valves. So , depending on what you have for an orfice will determine your course of action. It is a trial and error to get the correct size, too small it will go on demand intermitently or constant when warmed up good, too large a hole and it will not go on demand. .040 would be a starting point. If it quiets down when on demand you are most likely ok with the filter and or sucking air situation.
