This sounds similar to a C, and I had the same problem a few years ago. I got some good advice on this board and fixed it. I sanded the cover flat and then put a steel reinforcing plate on it with longer bolts. The gasket thickness is determined by the gear clearance, .001-.002" I think. you can check that with plastigauge. I think the CIH gaskets are very thin and you use 2, maybe only 1 after 50 years of wear. I made my own gasket out of some paper that was the right thickness You may get some better advice but this is how I fixed ours for about $5 and we have way more oil pressure than before!
