My 424 has one pump on the side of the engine. Far as valves go Ive played with em both and really get nothing besides shutting off the hitch, havent heard any chattering. Hitch doesnt jerk either.
If the relief valve was bad, wouldnt it bleed off when some thing real heavy was on it? I had my rototiller on it and used the backhoe to assist lifting it and it holds fine still.
