Vet, I have been reading your posts for years and I have learned alot from you about the old gas engines from you. I don't have an IH gasser but I do have an old Case 730 gas (about 58 hp) and I did some of the things you suggested and it really helped. Especially timing it correctly and running the 93 octane. Yea, it will use a bit more fuel than my diesels but at the price you can pick these old gassers up who cares. Even if I use $200 bucks a year more in fuel the tractor is paid for!
