Allen we run both here and if and i said IF you have it tuned correctly they are not that hard on fuel. I can mow rake twice and travel the 8 miles to the one field on one tank of fuel on the 706 and that field is 28 acres of some of the roughest ground you ever want to put a tractor on. It is steep and long and rough mowing with a 9 foot haybine and the engine is working hard . The best ya can run is third low at PTo speed or a shade over . Oh and i forgot to say that also includes running around that field gathering up the bales and grouping them in to groups of 8 for pick up.
