I thought I read somewhere the rims were galvanized, I will have to go back & find it.
I just checked the photos of 350s & 450s on the wisconsin historical society site and all the photos I see of 350s with spin out rims, they look both silver, and light gray, could be how the differing vendors that provided the wheels finished them that made these differences.
I will do some checking & get back to you on the galvanized thing, I did find a paint committe I37 that states they were to begin painting wheels white on 350's & 450's.
