The easy way is to use a thread repair kit to make it new. An insert type is probably the beas, though helicoil will also work. Pack the hole with some plastic bag material so the chips can be pulled out with the plastic. If not somthing you want to tackle, it would cost ~$20 at a repair shop. An alternative is to put new grease in the hole with an injector rubber tip, then hold a plug in the hole with a hose clamp. Jim
