Something is not wright . IF you are usen the old main clutch over and the flywheel was not cut then everything SHOULD be real close. IF you forced her together then i am telling you now to start pulling it back apart and start looking. Here is a little secret to have a tractor darn near fall together , Before you go back together first remove the Pressure plate and IF it has shipping hole where three bolts can be screwed into it to pull the fingers down then put three bolts into it and flatten them fingers down . If it does not have the shipping bolt holed in it then you can use your heel and press down one at a time and wedge a flt washer under the outside edge of the arms so that they stay down . THEN you place the pressure plate on the PTO input shaft , next ya hang the disc on the trans. input shaft and you SLIDE the tractor together . once it is together bolted up then you can work thru the bottom inspection hole and bolt the pressure plate onto the flywheel Then you can remove the bolts holding the pressure plate in the shipping and if it has no bolts you can get the washers out . By doing it this way the only thing ya have to line up is the pilot bearing and you do not stand the chance of messing up a clutch or even worse shoven a input shaft back .or even worse busten the thrust bearing web out of the block .
