farmall M charging and discharging????

Farmall M
rebuilt generator, rebuilt starter, new regulator.
Now getting a charge, before wasn't, BUT half thottle charges ok. less than half starts to discharge, lights on discharges, bright lights discharges even more!!! Have only three postions on switch off, dim, bright. battery ignition 6V system
age of machine unkown plate is gone. I am new at this working on tractor stuff; this is the machine i learned to farm with(busted fingers and all(narrow front end plowed fields, etc.)
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!!! have to leave now will not be able to check back till later this evening or tomorrow a.m.
