Rebuilt TAs usually come with a matching gear for the low side to insure that they get installed with the correct number of teeth and the correct pressure angle on the teeth. There was a real problem with TAs being installed with mismatched gears and the rebuilders being blamed for the resulting problems.
The gears in the 1206 have a 20° pressure angle on the teeth. Most of the gears in the later 56 series and newer have 25° pressure angle teeth. Since both the new and old gears have the same number of teeth they can be mismatched when assembled. When that happens they will be noisy and likely to soon fail since the load on the teeth will be on the tips of the teeth rather that face.
