Scott email the pictures to Don at the above address. Try turning the pinion shaft by hand and see if there is any play between the teeth of the pinion and the crown gear. Are there any steel shims between the front brg. carrier and the transmission housing? The fore and aft position of this shaft partially sets the tooth contact of the pinion to the ring gear which is attached to the differential carrier. The differential carrier is adjusted side to side with steel shims under the bearing holder on each side of the transmission case and this also helps determine the tooth contact of the ring gear and pinion. Did you have the differential apart to replace bearings? Did you replace the front pinion shaft bearing. If either of these settings is wrong, then you may get a lot of noise but i am still not ruling out maybe reverse idler.Keep in touch. Don
