as 36F30 mentioned, if you dont have a PTO extension on your tractor already, your gonna be in big trouble if you try to use the short shaft under the transmission. thing will fly apart and go bang quickly when that shaft slips off
one other thing, is the PTO stub under the rearend ISNT the same diameter as ASAE 540 shafts, they are smaller
If you find a PTO extension, everyone ive seen/had was ASAE 540 diamter and you dont need an adapter
