Zach, I have both a H and M with a Heisler 9 speed and they are very useful with those faster gears. Since we rarely use them for tillage anymore most of what I do with mine is pulling hay wagons to the barns from the hay fields and the high range is generally always used. The Heisler 9 speed is the one with the shift linkage entering the transmisson on the clutch or left side. I have never seen a M&W one with a linkage in lieu of the cable but I believe those only enter on the right or brake pedal side. The Heisler's on my tractors look like they could have been IH parts but aren't as I think most were dealer installed and none were ever offered from the IHC factories I believe. There are issues with the PTO and belly pump as they are speeded up as well and shouldn't be used when the 9 speed is engaged. Hope this helps with the understanding of them, Hal.
