Thanks SDman!! Last night I pulled the part off in question and called Case with the number. You nailed it! It was the transmission countershaft cover. Someone had taken it off and when they replaced it they left off the shim and gaskets, using only RTV sealant. When they replaced the cover and torqued it they cracked that cover and it finally snapped in two. With any luck the part will be in tomorrow and I will be suffering through another day of 100 degree Texas weather in the field. Thanks again for your patience and help. You keep us shadetrees honest.
