I don't know if I asked this last fall or not when I was wiring the tractor (1957 Loboy, 6V w/genny) but I know I hit on a few questions I had. I am cleaning up, applying decals, and about to put the hood on. Question...how do I know for certain that my genny and VR are functioning properly? Currently it is wired as follows: Fron left, 1st VR terminal is not being used. 2nd VR terminal has the green/gray wires that go to the dash. 3rd VR terminal is connected to the near post of the genny. Bottom VR terminal is going to the other genny post. I believe in a post last fall I was told to wire it this way even though it is not technically correct for the VR.
The old Ford systems with a cutout like on my 2N are very simple to check with a VO meter and you can adjust the charge rate with a screwdriver and see the change on the ammeter. This system is a little harder to understand and I could use some help. Are there any diagnostics I can run with my meter to help determine all is well and I won't be pulling it all apart again?
I had charge the battery before starting the tractor and it has been running off and on all week without any sign of drain. Maybe two dozen starts total.

The General GG was made by the Cleveland Tractor Company (Cletrac) of Cleveland, Ohio. Originally the company was called the Cleveland Motor Plow Company which began in 1912, then the Cleveland Tractor Company (1917) and finally Cletrac.
