Your painter is correct. CNH 2150 isn't supposed to have clear coat over the top. It won't work right. Something about it's chemistry. If I were him I wouldn't do it either. When it fogs our or who knows what then what happens? You will say ____ painted it and you will probably forget to tell the part about how you told the professional what paint system to use. It's his name on the paint job so he wants to do it right.
BTW, I have used the CNH silver by the label and it worked great. Good shine and rock hard finish. The stuff at Farm and Fleet/TSC is junk. Leave it at the store.
