I've got extension plates that bolt onto the standard drawbar of my Farmalls, and they extend about a foot behind the drawbar. I have a smaller one that I think may have come off a neighbor's B many years ago, which is about 8" long. They make lots of operations easier, such as backing a wagon, and allow the tractor to turn much shorter when disking or pulling a planter. The ones I've seen on fast-hitch drawbars are about 6" long or so, but would still be enough to help. Another neat feature of the ones I have is that the bolt hole pattern allows installation on the front side of the H or M steering bolster shaft where the extra two holes are. Pretty handy for backing a wagon into a tight spot by driving the tractor forward!
