I had to do this on my F-300 when it would not move oil after being split. 1) Remove the coil wire to the distributor. 2) Remove the square headed PLUG (like an allen head plug only square) from the top of the Hydraulic PUMP being careful not to lose the SPRING that is behind it. 3) Remove the FILLER PLUG at the reservoir, make sure the reservoir is FULL, and LEAVE the FILLER PLUG OUT. 4) From a small container, FILL the Hydraulic pump housing with Hy-Tran + (or whatever you are using) through the opening created by removing square headed PLUG and the underlying SPRING. 5) Crank the starter few seconds until the pump moves the oil and appears empty again. You may have to repeat steps 4) and 5) up to a dozen times until oil seems to remain in the PUMP. A second sets of hands and eyes will speed this process up. Be prepared to make a medium sized mess. 6) Top off PUMP; replace the SPRING and PLUG. Replace the coil wire. 7) With the FILLER PLUG still out, start the tractor, and cycle ALL of the hydraulic circuits repeatedly, until everything functions satisfactorily. Replace FILLER PLUG.
