Yes like other post said #1 is the one on the front. Now you need to remove the plug so you can look in the hole with a small mag lite then you can see when the piston comes to the top thats when the mag . With the cap off you will see the rotor move now you need to see where the rotor is is line with the cap. I make a mark where the tower on the cap is for #1 which is around the 2 oclock position then as you turn the engine over you will see the rotor go to that position before it fires. the gears driving the rotor can be moved so the rotor is lined up on the cap There is no timing the mag as when it fires on tdc to start the timing will go to 32deg when the engine runs so get the rotor to line up with the tower and thats all theres to it.
